Miami Beach Halloween Half Marathon FAQ

The following FAQ was for the 2011 race. The information for the 2012 race will be added as soon as details are confirmed.

When does the race start?
It begins promptly at 7 am on October 29, 2011.

Where does the race start?
The race start is located at the Jungle Island. 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami, FL 33132.

Where does the race finish?
The race finish is located at the South Pointe Park, Miami Beach.

How do I get back to my car after the race?
We will have shuttles circulating from start to finish-finish to start. Therefore, you will be able to get back to your car if it is at Jungle Island.

What is the official race shirt?
The official race shirt is a Brooks Technical Shirt, most running stores carry this brand for you to try on. (For sizing purposes).

Is there an online application available?
Yes. Online Registration

Are wheelchairs and walkers allowed on the course?
This race is very narrow. Therefore, we do not allow wheelchairs on this race. Unassisted walkers are allowed, however, be aware that it may be difficult to maneuver.

Are there time limits for this race?
The time limit is 3 1/2 -4 hours from start to finish.

Is there any finisher recognition?
We provide a finisher medal for every participant. The image is on our website for you to look at.

Are there any awards?
Yes, we will have awards for age groups to the top finishers of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. We also will be crowning the fastest super hero, fastest villain, fastest underwear, fastest scary person, fastest funny costume, and finally the fastest WTF? (the name says it all). YOU WILL ONLY BE ELLIGIBLE FOR AN AWARD FOR THE COSTUME THAT YOU REGISTER AS.

What hotels are there?
There are many hotels to choose from for this race. However, we do highly recommend the Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel Miami-South Beach.

Can I have an iPod with headphones?
Yes, our race does allow this.

Is your race certified?
Yes

Will there be medical support?
Yes, there will be one medical station at the finish line and three additional stations along the course.

Will there be water stops?
Yes, there will be water stops approximately every mile.

Will there be timing chips/numbers?
Yes, there will be both.

Will there be bathrooms?
Bathrooms on site.

Is there a place to get my gear after the race?
There is a gear check and your gear will be brought to the finishline.
